And now for something bizarre.
At work a group of us have been asked to complete a course about numeracy and literacy embedding. No matter that we may already have been trained. No matter that we are actually teaching language and/or maths. It’s simply required.
The course is about to expire, so we’ve got to rush. We’ve been told to do it backwards. To negotiate the format of the evidence that we’re already doing what we do.
It has a strong Aotearoa/Maori perspective. No matter that we, in the English Language Centre, have never had a single Maori student enroll.
